2010 Dignitaries
The Dinosaur
Roundup Rodeo has been in existence for 60 years officially
and actually started as far back as 1932. It started as
a home town rodeo with the community getting together o
n a Saturday afternoon. Today it has grown to be one of
the top Professional Rodeos in the World, competing against
some of the toughest, biggest, and oldest rodeos like Cheyenne,
Calgary, Pendleton, and the Houston livestock Show.
The Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo has been voted as one of the top 5 rodeos for 8 years
running and still today is one the cowboys deem the most hospitable and competitive.
One of the many reasons the cowboys and contract personal love our area is the
personal treatment they receive while here in our community. It’s been
said “it’s like coming home”.
Our committee prides itself being successful because of all the sponsorship and
volunteers and the many hour’s it takes to put this caliber of rodeo on.
We would like to pay tribute to those that have helped pave the way to becoming
one of the best and want to show our appreciation for all the hard work and support
whether it be by volunteering their time, goods or services or the many donations
to shaping this rodeo and community into something we can all be proud of. |
Our Legendary
Cowboy Award is given to the individual that has been a pioneer or familiar
figure in the community with their contributions and local
support in the livestock industry and community events. Someone
who inspires others to continue the tradition of Agricultural
and Rodeo with a long productive career.

Volunteer
of the Year Award is nominated and voted on for the quality of service, length
of service, character, and the many hours contributed to
the rodeo. There are many that are submitted and all of the
volunteers are recognized for the commitment and service
they have provided. Without people who are willing to volunteer
hours and hours of labor, services, and contributions to
our rodeo, it would not be one of the most prestigious in
the country.
