Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo

Rodeo Announcer

The man behind the mic, Roger Mooney, comes to you all the way from Ellijay, GA. Roger’s career began by accident in 1984 when in college, he stepped in for the scheduled rodeo announcer who had a heart attack. In short time, he went from being a contestant, to one of the best rodeo announcers in the world. 2019 will be his 14th consecutive appearance at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. In 2018, Roger announced his 3rd Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Some of his additional accolades include the Calgary Stampede, the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo, the National High School Rodeo Finals, and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Announcer of the Year.

Roger has announced as many as 63 rodeos in one season. In over 30 years, he has announced approximately 4,000 rodeos in North America, and counting. When not rodeoing, Mooney can be found in the recording studio making radio and TV commercials, raising registered Angus cattle or playing with his two kids, Cash and Morgan. You can also catch him on occasion on CBS Sports Network, the Wrangler Network, and prorodeotv.com.
