Vernal’s Dinosaur Roundup has hosted countless world-class rodeo athletes during its 75 years as a professional rodeo. The Greatest Show on Dirt historical contestant list contains cowboys who have been inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, won world championships, won NFR Average titles, and qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Vernal is the home-town professional rodeo for many cowboys and cowgirls from the Uintah Basin and a favorite of contestants from the Wilderness Circuit, which includes the states of Utah, Idaho, and Nevada.
In 2025, 624 rodeo athletes have entered for a chance at the largest payout in Vernal’s Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo history.
